The Short North

Every year on our nation’s birthday, the “Doo Dah Parade” marches down High Street. It parodies traditional Forth of July parades, featuring a clown-like Uncle Sam, politically-slanted floats and lingerie-clad thespians, among other paraders. It even has a band of Fidel Castro impersonators called the “Marching Fidels.” The Short North also rings in the first Saturday of each month with the “Gallery Hop,” where local art galleries stay open late while musicians and performers entertain the masses on the streets.
